Job Description

Since 1851, Glens Falls National Bank has been helping individuals and businesses of the North Country meet their financial goals. We have 30 offices from Clinton to Saratoga counties and offer a broad range of personal and commercial banking, retirement, investment and insurance services.   

In this position you will be responsible for providing operational support for information technology systems and assisting with engineering of new applications/infrastructure components to support business initiatives.  You would work closely with technical support teams, systems engineers, and systems developers to provide results using ad-hoc queries, investigate system anomalies, create training guides, and collect metrics on support issues.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

§      Support business systems including:  Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange, Vmware, NetApp, Compellent, and remote access systems; aid with end-user support, installations/upgrades, and troubleshooting.

§      Work with systems development team to test systems under the guidance of management and provide documentation to report results.

§      Responsible for upgrades and patches for Microsoft and other third party vendors; establish timeline, determine requirements, execute action, and follow-up as appropriate.

§      Collaborate with departments and business groups to develop technology solutions that will meet current and future business needs.

§      Assist with management of special projects to add to or improve technology suite as directed by Information Technology management.

§      Provide second level support for Information Technology support technicians as appropriate.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certifications/Experience:

§          Bachelor’s Degree in information technology-related field or equivalent experience required

§      6+ years of experience related to support, implementation, or administration of networks such as Microsoft Windows Active Directory required

§      Related certifications a plus

Skills/Knowledge:

§          Demonstrated knowledge of enterprise data center environments

§      Strong communications skills, both written and verbal; comfortable communicating with customers, co-workers, management, and outside vendors/suppliers

§      Proven problem solving and analytical skills; ability to extract and interpret information from multiple sources

§      Solid organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to prioritize multiple tasks/projects and meet deadlines

§      Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite:  Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint

Other:

§          Ability to lift minimum of 25 pounds

§          Ability to crawl under or maneuver around desks, workstations, and other equipment
